68cd46b622 lib/ftl: IO completion queue associated with io channel
Do not complete user IO writes immediately but put them to IO
channel completion queue. This allow to complete IO requests in
batches and reduce need of unnecessary message sending in bdev layer.

fc2dbeaa78 lib/ftl: Init/fini context moved from dev structure to init module
init_ctx and fini_ctx from dev structyre was redundant to initialization
module context. This patch merge those structures and keep initialization
and deinitialization context private for init module.

843f296e2e lib/ftl: Replace Open Channel dependencies with zone bdev API
This patch replaces NVMe Open Channel API usage
inside FTL library with corresponding zone bdev
API calls. This include following calls:
 - spdk_nvme_ctrlr_cmd_get_log_page -> spdk_bdev_get_zone_info
 - spdk_nvme_ocssd_ns_cmd_vector_reset -> spdk_bdev_zone_management
 - spdk_nvme_ns_cmd_read -> spdk_bdev_read_blocks
 - spdk_nvme_ns_cmd_write_with_md -> spdk_bdev_write_blocks

aea8e78df2 lib/ftl: Consume whole underlying OCSSD device
Moving to zoned bdev API will not allow to setup
physical range of underlying device so we need to

e47e16d3a4 lib/ftl: Replace ftl_ppa struct with ftl_addr
FTL working on top of zoned bdev doesn't need
physical page address (PPA) anymore.
ftl_ppa was replaced with ftl_addr which represents
zoned device addressing schema.

77d591e172 lib/ftl: Change ftl_chunk structure to ftl_zone
This is starting point for moving current FTL
implementation which is working on top of
Open Channel NVMe driver to work on top of
abstracted zoned bdev.

This patch is changing name of ftl_chunk structure
to ftl_zone and start using zone states from zdev
interface.

cf3d42961b lib/ftl: flush the write buffer during nv_cache recovery
When recovering the data from the non-volatile cache, the data inside
the volatile cache needs to be flushed before flushing active bands.
Otherwise, if the number of blocks in a band is smaller than the number
of blocks inside the volatile cache, part of the data may not get
flushed.

1f133d7279 lib/ftl: track defragged bands in ftl_reloc
Track the band under defrag inside the reloc module.  This allows for
multiple bands being defragged at the same time (e.g. extra one due to
write fault) as well as makes it easier to handle cases when relocating
a band that has no valid blocks.

0cb8a3319c lib/ftl: Update initialization of io channel
Changed initialization of io channels to be made in the core/read
thread themselves. This fixes potential hangs when using the ftl lib
directly, without bdev and initializing an ftl device from a different
thread than will be used for IO.

fb15434659 lib/ftl: store non-volatile cache's current write address
Remember current write position within the cache when shutting down.  It
allows for faster recovery after clean shutdown (no need to scan the
device) as well as grants a quick way to distinguish between clean and
dirty shutdowns.

45372c5768 lib/ftl: separate non-volatile scrub function
The cache needs to be scrubbed during the initial device creation as
well as after power loss recovery. This patch extracts the scrubbing
code into a separate function.

8d1bb260ea lib/ftl: separate non-volatile header write function
The header is being written from multiple places, so having a discrete
function serializing and writing it at the appropriate place in the
cache makes sense.

78154d9558 lib/ftl: allow flushing active bands
This patch adds a function that marks all active open bands to be
flushed and once all of them are closed it notifies the caller. This
needs to be done before the data from non-volatile cache can be scrubbed
to make sure its stored on bands the device can be restored from.

4d7c81625c lib/ftl: non-volatile cache data recovery
Use the data placed on the non-volatile cache to perform recovery in
case the device wasn't shut down cleanly. The write phase ranges are
read and their data is copied onto the OC device.

The code added in this patch will correctly copy the data from
overlapping ranges, however it won't do anything about these overlapping
areas, so subsequent power loss happening quickly after recovery might
result in data loss.

4fd4e3db5f lib/ftl: track non-volatile cache's write sequence
This patch adds tracking of the phase of the writes to the non-volatile
cache. The phase is changed each time the whole buffer is filled. Along
with every block's LBA, current phase is stored in its metadata. This
allows for replaying the sequence of writes when recovering the data
from the cache after (unclean) shutdown.

Since there are only three possible phases to be stored on the device at
a time, phase is defined as a 2-bit counter cycling through 1 -> 2 -> 3
-> 1, with 0 marking blocks that were never written.

c69529d452 lib/ftl: block nv_cache until header is written
After filling whole non-volatile cache, block all further writes until
the header with metadata is written. This means that metadata stored on
the device will always be up-to-date with the most recent write
sequence.

2cc6bd2a26 lib/ftl: Skip block with ongoing write during relocation
In case ANM event occurs on open band there
can be situation that reloc will try to read
block on which there is ongoing write.
This is happening because lba valid map is
updated before write  submission to allow sent
consistent metadata to disk before all user
writes are completed.

Added write offset to the each chunk and
add check to reloc if particular ppa is written
on that chunk.

d23cc88d73 lib/ftl: Track cached lba map segments
Keep track of read lba map segments to avoid
unnecessary traffic in case ANM events.

Lba map is divided on 4KB segments which can
store 512 lba entries.

In case multipe read request on same segment
keep pending request list and process it in
read_lba_map() completion callback.

baa06190d8 lib/ftl: Add direct wptr and IO
Direct wptr allows for writing to band with externally
provided PPA, rather than one assigned by the wptr. This
can be useful when padding open bands during recovery or
bdev creation, as ftl can find partially written end meta
with no way to close the band with valid data, that would
conform to an already written CRC value.

This does mean that I/O sender is responsible for calculating
and obeying per-chunk write pointer arithmetics.

0ab3fa895f ftl: Gathering asynchronous NAND management events
The patch adds support for retrieving asynchronous media management
events sent by the drives. SSDs needs to inform the host of various
incidents concerning the data placed on the media. The events include
wear-leveling, read disturb, and background data refresh.

In order to poll for this asynchronous events, a separate thread is
added that polls for completion of admin commands for each of Open
Channel disk and dispatches the ANM events to the appropriate block
devices.

cbc81d2659 ftl: Added relocate module
This patch implements module responsible for data relocation due to
defragmentation, wear-leveling, read disturb and/or background data
refresh.

The submodule supports moving whole bands, chunks, as well as

ef2e614cef ftl: Initial implementation
This patch adds core FTL (flash translation layer) submodules.

On regular SSDs the FTL is part of firmware, whereas Open Channel
enables moving it to the host and allows for having full controll
of data placement on the device.

 * bad block management

e9a236d275 ftl: Initial headers
This patch introduces core structures required for implementing FTL on
top of Open Channel drives. The Open Channel specification describes raw
access to the media on the SSD. The FTL consumes that API and exposes a
block device interface.

The implementation is based on the revision 2.0 of the Open Channel SSD
specification.
