There is a trap set up to kill the spdk process in case of error, there
is no need to delete any bdevs before that.

The test already checked ENOMEM handling, but it only used bdevs that
support chaining (crypto, malloc), so bdev layer didn't need to execute
any accel operations. So, to force bdev layer to do that, a passthru
bdev was added, as it doesn't support chaining.

In releases of SPDK prior to v23.01, GPT bdevs had a random UUID. This
ended with commit a1c7ae2d3f, which is OK
because a non-persistent UUID is not all that useful.
Per Table 5.6 in Section 5.3.3 of UEFI Spec 2.3, each partition has a
16-byte UniquePartitionGUID:
GUID that is unique for every partition entry. Every partition ever
created will have a unique GUID. This GUID must be assigned when the
GPT Partition Entry is created. The GPT Partition Entry is created
whenever the NumberOfPartitionEntries in the GPT Header is increased
to include a larger range of addresses.
With this change, GPT bdevs use this unique partition GUID as the bdev's
UUID.

After we create the GPT, we change the partition type
GUID to the associated SPDK value. The current
comment just says "change the GUID" which is
ambiguous because there are multiple GUIDs associated
with each partition.

spdk_bdev_queue_io_wait() can only be used when one of bdev submission
functions returns ENOMEM (i.e. there are no more spdk_bdev_ios on that
IO channel). Using it in any other case, e.g. on spdk_accel_append_*()
returning ENOMEM, will most likely result in failure. Therefore, to
avoid that, the IOs are completed with NOMEM status relying on the bdev
layer to retry them.

This actually allows malloc bdev to chain multiple accel operations
together. And, since the last operation will always be a copy, accel
should remove that copy by modifying previous operation's dst/src.
On my system, it improved bdevperf performance (single core, qd=4,
bs=128k, bdev_crypto on top of bdev_malloc, crypto_sw):
randread: 5668M/s -> 8201M/s
randwrite: 5148M/s -> 7856M/s

This only changes the interface bdev_malloc uses for scheduling the copy
to appends, but it won't chain those copies to an existing sequence, as
bdev_malloc doesn't report support for accel sequences yet. That will
be changed in one of the subsequent patches.

When RPC server is used for configuration, rpc_cmd
function waits 15 seconds to read all replies. If
mlx5 dpdk driver is used on slow machines or in
container, RPC framework_start_init may take more
than 15 seconds to execute. As result, rpc_cmd
exits earlier and output of some comamnds
remains in the pipe. Next call of rpc_cmd may
read wrong data, that leads to malformed json
config. To avoid this problem, redirect RPCs to
a regualr rpc socket.

Due to a problem described in github #2886, we
were not able to run verify payload with big IO
and big queue depth. This problem was fixed with
iobuf utilities, so now we can increase queue
depth in this test.

At the previous refactoring, most use cases for spdk_bdev_first/next()
were replaced by spdk_for_each_bdev(). However, test/bdevio was not
changed because this was a test tool. Finally, replace
spdk_bdev_first_leaf() and spdk_bdev_next_leaf() by spdk_for_each_bdev()
for test/bdevio in this patch.

The gpt bdev module has an off-by-one error. When it
calculates the size of the partition, it simply does
"end - start", when really it should be "end - start + 1".
We cannot just fix it by changing the math here, any
consumers of the partition may have put down metadata
on the partition based on the old size.
So instead add a new SPDK partition type. SPDK will keep
the existing off-by-one behavior when it finds the old
partition type, but will use the correct math when finding
the new partition type.
Fixes issue #2801.

Previously vbdev_crypto used DPDK directly and
the restriction on max IO size was propagated to
generic bdev layer which split big IO requests.
Now, when DPDK code is a standalone accel module,
this restriction on max IO size is not visible to
the user and we should get rid of it.
To remove this limitation, allow to submit crypto
operations for part of logical blocks in big IO,
the rest blocks will be processed when all submitted
crypto ops are completed.
To verify this patch, add a functional test which
submits big IO verify mode

Implement the resize function for RAID0. raid0_resize() calculate the
new raid_bdev's block count and if it is different from the old block
count, call spdk_bdev_notify_blockcnt_change() with the new block count.
A raid0 bdev always opens all base bdevs. Hence, if the size of base
bdevs are reduced, resize fails now. This limitation will be removed
later.
Add a simple functional test for this feature. The test is to create
a raid0 bdev with two null bdevs, resize one null bdev, check if the
raid0 bdev is not resize, resize another null bdev, check if the raid0
bdev is resized.
test/iscsi_tgt/resize/resize.sh was used a reference to write the test.
Using jq rather than grep&sed is better and hence replace grep&sed by jq
of test/iscsi_tgt/resize/resize.sh together in this patch.

initialize_buffer() uses memset() with a static pattern
that won't be able to detect issues such as writing/reading
only the first iov entry.
This commit adds counter at the beginning of every block
to help detect such errors.

Remove automatic generation of UUIDs for bdevs
that do not provide this value themselves.
This is to clarify whether this field can be
depended upon.
Modified match files to reflect change in UUID
generation.
Disabled nullglob shell option, as it deletes
empty arrays during word splitting. Bdevs with no
aliases would instead of "[]", have nullpointer
printed, which makes resulting JSON invalid.
Part of enhancement proposed in #2516.

Before this fix, nbd_with_lvol_verify() would compare the string output
of mkfs.ext4 ("Dicarding device blocks...") with 0. If the shell does
not cast an invalid number to 0, test in the if statement will evaluate
to false.
The intent of the test in the if statement seems to be to check the exit
code from mkfs.ext4. This commit implements that assumed intent.
Additionally, mkfs_ret is now a local variable.

bdevperf application is utilized in multiple test scenarios
and most prominently in SPDK performance reports.
Similar to perf and fio_plugins, it is used to measure performance.
It is intended to represent the expected behavior of users
application that use SPDK bdev layer.
Applications under --enable-tests are intended for specific test
scenarios and user interaction is usually via a test scripts.
Meanwhile --enable-examples are used more broadly to teach and
show usage of SPDK libraries.
As an added benefit with this patch, its possible to compile
bdevperf without need to satisfy additional requirements to
compile all the test applications.

of the IOs with the associated thread on the same Bdev.
Please also be aware that the IO statistics are collected from SPDK
thread's related channel's information. So that it is more relating
to the SPDK thread. And in the dynamic scheduling case, different
SPDK thread could be running on the same Core.
In this case, any seperate channel's IO statistics are returned to
the RPC call and if needed, further parse of the data is needed to
get the per Core information although usually there is one thread
per Core.
On the other hand, user could run the framework_get_reactors RPC
method to get the relationship of the thread and CPU Cores so as
to get the precise information of IO runnings on each thread and
each Core for the same Bdev.

If verify is enabled, both data and metadata are checked. However,
if verify is disabled, read data is not checked even if dif_check_flags
is not zero. Add DIF/DIX verification for read I/O at completion.

This function was a bit cluttered so simplify it. Also, it was
assuming nbd module was loaded into the kernel prior running it -
this could silently fail the nbd_all[@] setup in case it wasn't.
Always attempt to load nbd driver before the setup and fail hard
if the driver is not in place.

In this case, if there is successfully configured job and continue_on_failure (-f)
parameter is set, it will continue to run for these jobs. Otherwise, it will just

Refactor blockdev_write_read_offset_plus_nbytes_equals_bdev_size() and

Fix mkfs fail when using lvol as backend of nbd.Predefined
NBD_FLAG_SEND_FLUSH and NBD_FLAG_SEND_TRIM are defined by default,
so the operations of trim and flush are supported,but in fact lvol
doesn't support trim and flush operations.Therefore add judgement for
NBD_FLAG_SEND_FLUSH and NBD_FLAG_SEND_TRIM to check.
