Parses and verifies hexadecimal cpu bit mask specified by the user.
Added verification to check for cpu cores range, making sure poll groups cores
assigned within the range of cpu cores allocated for the application.
RPC nvmf_set_config now takes an argument to configure ‘poll groups’,
a new parameter for NVMf subsystem. This parameter sets a CPU mask
to spawn threads which run an event loop for a ‘poll group’.

This parameter is still part of API spdk_sock_impl_opts
structure but it is not used. Keep it to support ABI
compatibility since it is located in the middle of the
structure and removing it may break socket opts initialization
or parsing.

Implement bdev_nvme_reset_controller rpc, which allows the NVMe
controller to be reset over RPC. Implement bdev_nvme_reset_rpc()
which starts the reset of the controller and returns the result of
the controller reset via the callback function after it completes.

Fix json config file using strip_size error, and

rpc function in order to make it more meaningful to users.

Add three parameters, pdu_pool_size, immediate_data_pool_size, and
data_out_pool_size to the RPC iscsi_set_options to run iSCSI target
with little memory.
For some use cases, we want to keep the max number of connections,
but simultaneously we want to reduce the pool size and let I/Os wait
until resource is provided.

In struct spdk_nvmf_poll_group_stat, there are statistics of cumulative IO and
admin queue pair counts. But current qpair counts are not reflected. Use
this patch to add current admin and io qpair counts for a poll group.

Revise bdev_rbd_create rpc call to add an optional
parameter "--cluster-name", e.g., "--cluster-name Rados".
Then users can create a rbd bdev with registered
Rados Cluster. This shared strategy can be used to
remove the thread creation overhead if multiple rbds
are connected to the same Ceph cluster.

This patch is used to add two rpc calls:
bdev_rbd_register_cluster
bdev_rbd_unregister_cluster
Then in the next patch, rbd bdev constructed on the same cluster object
can share the common Rados_t structure in order to remove the thread creation
overhead and improve the scalability.

Add {min,max}_cntlid to spdk_nvmf_subsystem, defaulting to 1 and
0xFFEF, respectively, and add nvmf_subsystem_set_cntlid_range() to
allow the controller range to be configured in the range [min_cntlid,
max_cntlid].
Also add {min,max}_cntlid to the nvmf_create_subsystem RPC to allow
the controller ID range to be specified when creating an nvmf
subsystem.

- Use consistent cache line size units in KiB across RPC calls
and config files. The KiB units are much easier to use then
the bytes units and are more human readable.
- Properly handle cache start when cache line size is incorrect.
- Add test to check if cache line size value is reported correctly.
- Add cache line size info to JSON RPC documentation.

When zcero copy send is enabled and used by initiator,
it could significantly increase latency in some payloads.
To enable more fine graing configuration of zero copy
send feature, add new parameters enable_zerocopy_send_server
and enable_zerocopy_send_client to spdk_sock_impl_opts to
enable/disable zcopy for specific type of sockets.
Exisiting enable_zerocopy_send parameter affects all types
of sockets.

Check if qpair has a poll group during the connect process,
use poll group's statistics or allocate own structure per
qpair. That is done due to not all applications use poll
groups and we want to avoid "if (qpair->group)"
conditions in data path.
Admin qpair always allocates its own statistics
structure but the statistics are not reported
since this qpair is not attached to a poll group.
Statistics are reported by spdk_nvme_perf tool
if --transport-stats and in bdev_nvme_transport_statistics
RPC method.

Leverage SO_INCOMING_CPU to get the CPU affinity of connections
(sockets). And allocate the connections to specific poll groups,
which aims to utilize cache locality.
From our test:
6 P4600 NVMe on target,target uses 8 cores, NIC irqs are bound to
these 8 cores, and initiator side uses 24 and 32 cores,
we can get 11%~17% randwrite performance boost for posix, and 8%~12%
for uring.

Add spdk_bdev_wait_for_examine() API to be called
in order to report when examine on all registered bdevs finished.
It will be built in to most bdev modules RPC.

There are transport types like vfio-user or fc for which this field is
optional so there is no need to explicitly specify it for the add
listener rpc. Still validation of this filed is preserved for rdma and
tcp transport.

NVMf subsystems can have certain hosts that are allowed.
We were previously using the term "whitelist" to refer
to those hosts. Replace that usage as part of removing
this term from the rest of SPDK.

Add an new RPC, iscsi_start_portal_group, to start listening on
portals if the specified portal group is not started yet.
The next patch will add an new parameter wait to the existing RPC,
iscsi_create_portal_group.
The RPC allows the specified portal group to be already started,
and returns a success response in this case.

The internal vhost library is used when DPDK's version
is older than 19.05 and the experiemntal vhost nvme
target.
For the CONFIG_INTERNAL_VHOST_LIB option, SPDK doesn't
enable this option by default over one year and CI
doesn't cover it either, so we may remove it with
this release.
As for the vhost-nvme target, since we are developing
a new vfio-user target solution, it's OK for us to remove
it now.

Add an new RPC, nvmf_subsystem_listener_set_ana_state.
Find the specified subsystem listener, and then set the ANA state
of the listener by calling nvmf_subsystem_listener_set_ana_state().
By adding a string and an enum to the existing context structure,
nvmf_rpc_listener_ctx, and adding an operation type to the existng
enum, nvmf_rpc_listen_op, reuse the existing code and data as much
as possible.
Besides, insert line break into a few long lines and fix wrong
error log.

Add an new RPC, nvmf_subsystem_get_listeners.
ANA state is per listener and per subsystem, and is stored in
subsystem listener. We can return ANA state by the existing
nvmf_get_subsystems RPC but it's confusing that listen addresses
have ANA states.
To change ANA state, we will provide a RPC to change ANA state of
only one selected subsystem listener.
To query ANA state, it will be convenient to get ANA states of all
listeners of one selected subsystem.

Add an new RPC, nvmf_subsystem_get_qpairs to retrieve the list of
qpairs of an NVMe-oF subsystem.
This RPC will be usable to verify if NVMe ANA works.
Pause and resume the subsystem to access the qpairs safely.
One subtle issue remains. The JSON RPC returns success even if
resuming the subsystem fails. Write FIXME to address this.

One of the main use cases will be to get identification information
of NVMe-oF controllers to configure their ANA states dynamically.

For the login redirection feature, the current implementation works
only if a portal is redirected from an initial portal to a redirect
portal. However, the login redirection feature should work even if a
portal is redirected from one redirect portal to another redirect
portal.
A public portal group knows only a redirect portal and does not know
the portal group of the redirect portal.
Moreover, it is very likely that an initial portal and a redirect portal
exist in different SPDK iSCSI target applications.
To cover all these concerns, add an new iscsi_target_node_request_logout
RPC to request connections whose portal group tag match for the target
node.
To cover potential use cases, make the second parameter portal group
tag optional.

As written in doc/iscsi.md, typically the login redirection feature
will be used in scale out iSCSI target system, which runs multiple
SPDK iSCSI target applications.
In scale out iSCSI target system, the initial portal, the current
redirect portal, and the next redirect portal are likely to be in
different SPDK iSCSI target applications.
In this case, asynchronous logout request should be sent independently
from the iSCSI target application which has the current redirect portal.
However, we had added asynchronous logout request into the iSCSI target
application which has the next redirect portal. This idea works only
for the case that login is redirected from the initial portal to a
redirect portal.
We remove asynchronous logout request from iscsi_target_node_redirect()
in this patch, and update the corresponding help documents.
The next patch will add an new RPC to send asynchronous logout
request to all connections to the specified portal group and the
specified target.

In SPDK iSCSI target, portal group works almost as identifier of
portal.
To support iSCSI login redirection, we need to have two types of
portal groups, public and private portal groups.
We need portals of public portal groups to redirect to a portal in
a private portal groups at login via temporary login redirection
funciton, and we need to make SendTargets return only portals in
public portal groups.
To do these simply, we mark primary or secondary portal group expicitly
at its creation by this patch.

TCP delayed ACK can be disabled or enabled by enabling or disabling
quick ACK, respectively.
The recently added spdk_sock_impl_opts is helpful for sock library
to control quick ACK.
Hence this patch adds and uses an option enable_quickack. The option
is effective only for the POSIX sock module.
We have spdk_sock_opts now too but spdk_sock_impl_opts will be better
for this case.
This option is not supported on FreeBSD. FreeBSD users can set the
option globally via sysctl if desired.
